Kendrick Lamar's 'To Pimp A Butterfly '

Kendrick Lamar Duckworth a.k.a K-dot is an American rapper from Compton. He was inspired by witnessing the filming of the late Tupac Shakur's California Love video. He grew up listening to his Compton rap predecessors in the likes of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Jayceon Terrell Taylor (Game) including Eastcoast emcees amongst Tupac and Snoop Doggy Dog.
He is in the same group as fellow modern Compton rappers Schoolboy Q, AB Soul and Jay Rock. The group is known as the Black Hippy.
Kendrick Lamar has previously been a recipient of numerous Grammy awards amongst others.
March 15th of 2015 was the birth of Kendrick Lamar's third studio album; To Pimp A Butterfly under Top Dawg Entertainment. Dr. Dre is the executive producer of the critically acclaimed album.
K-dot's poetry excellence reflected on all 16 tracks including an exhilarating dialogue between the rapper and the demised Tupac Shakur. Shakur had given insight into his life as an African-American man and an accomplished rapper who grew up in the dilapidated project housings of the ghetto with no real hope of getting a better life as the average Caucasian.
Lamar described the album as honest, unapologetic and fearful. The album is themed heavily around Kendrick's exploits as a teenager growing up in the gutters influenced by his peers into participating in gang activities he had no business partaking.
The rapper attempts to tackle the racial inequalities, drugs, poverty and murder which are the major challenges in the Black American societies. He once said "Kendrick a gift for the future" and after reluctantly putting the album on pause to scribble this article I think Kendrick Lamar is one of the modern world prophets. Lamarstradamus. Enjoy the album and pay close attention to 'Hood Politics ' that's my favourite.
